Position Summary: Valley COM is seeking a Physiology Faculty member to help shape the next generation of osteopathic physicians through high-quality instruction in Physiology within our Biomedical Sciences department. This is a rare opportunity to help build a medical school's curriculum from the ground up — integrating osteopathic principles, cultural humility, and innovative teaching strategies into a program designed to transform healthcare access across the state.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver Physiology instruction aligned with the school's mission and osteopathic philosophy
  • Contribute to leadership and advisory functions within the department
  • Develop and continuously refine curriculum and instructional materials
  • Design and administer student evaluations and assessments
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in medical education
  • Support students through mentorship and student support services
  • Collaborate across departments and with interdisciplinary faculty
  • Engage in research and scholarly innovation
  • Support accreditation, quality, and compliance efforts
  • Contribute to strategic planning as the institution grows

Workload: 60% Teaching | 25% Service | 15% Research/Scholarship

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent doctorate degree in a related field
  • Board eligibility or certification in Physiology or related specialty preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to osteopathic philosophy and holistic patient care
  • Experience or formal training in medical education or curriculum development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary academic environment
  • Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education
  • Proficiency with digital learning platforms and educational technologies
