The most meaningful support you can offer a student who reaches 99% of their weekly target is to insist they finish. Not out of indifference, but because you know they are capable of meeting the standard—and lowering it would be the true disservice.

You are not a classroom instructor. At Alpha, academic content is delivered through AI-driven adaptive learning platforms. No traditional lectures. No textbooks. No whiteboard instruction. Motivation and life skills—elements most schools treat as secondary—are your entire focus.

Consider a typical Tuesday. Half your time is spent facilitating one-hour sessions for a K-8 cohort, covering topics like public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback. The other half involves working directly with these same students individually or in small groups, reviewing their Coachbot data, and driving each one toward 100% completion of their weekly app goals. You'll leverage school currency, leaderboards, and the trust you've established to overcome resistance.

Your performance each quarter hinges on three metrics: every student in your cohort completes their weekly app targets, every student passes the Test2

Pass mastery check for each session, and 90% or more report that they love working with you. Falling short on any one of these means falling short overall.

The reward comes when a student who spent September claiming to be terrible at math asks you to increase their goal.

This is a full-time, in-person position at an Alpha campus. We hire across the country, so job listings may appear in nearby cities that do not yet have a campus.

If you have coached youth sports, led a camp cabin, or tutored a student on the verge of quitting, the final step before an offer is spending a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students.

• Facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions for K-8 cohorts, covering public speaking, focus, and how to give and receive feedback
• Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation meetings that drive every student to 100% of their weekly app targets, informed by Coachbot analytics and Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards)
• Delivering the Test2
  
  Pass mastery assessment for each life skill, then re-teaching any student who does not pass until mastery is achieved
• Adjusting the workshop playbook and developing new sessions when needed, ensuring the material resonates with both kindergarteners and eighth graders
• Serving as both the adult who upholds high expectations and the adult your students trust and confide in

• Teaching from a whiteboard, creating math or reading lesson plans, or grading assignments; academic content is managed by the apps
• Preparing students for standardized tests or being responsible for class-wide test results
• Managing parent conferences, emails, or concerns; campus leadership handles all parent communication
• Managing large groups of 30 students simultaneously; cohorts are small and behavioral work is individualized coaching
• Passively monitoring students on computers; motivation here is proactive and interpersonal

Ensure every student in your K-8 cohort achieves their weekly learning targets, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and finishes the year reporting they loved school.

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students: classroom instruction, tutoring, athletic coaching, camp leadership, or youth program facilitation
