Teacher of the Deaf in Phoenix, AZ

Share your passion for supporting students with hearing differences in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract role, starting in early August and concluding in late May, involves providing specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming and supportive classroom experience, focusing on accessibility and student achievement. Onsite candidates are strongly preferred, but qualified virtual applicants may be considered.

• Current Standard Professional Certificate
• Completed Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
• Experience supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a K-12 setting
• Ability to deliver differentiated instruction and specialized strategies for accessibility
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexibility to adapt to different educational settings and student needs

• Plan and implement individualized educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Assess student needs, progress, and goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff
• Use specialized teaching methods and technologies to foster a learning-rich environment
• Provide consultative support to staff and families for student success
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
• Encourage self-advocacy and independence among students
