SummaryThe Response to Intervention Teacher (RTI) is responsible for supporting student achievement with special attention to Tier II and III instruction. The RTI provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically, monitors, reports, and communicates student progress and performance, and collaborates with general education staff.
Performance Responsibilities- Use evidence-based strategies to teach core subjects such as reading, writing, and math.
- Work with teachers to identify students' learning limitations and needs.
- Use data to create and implement intervention plans.
- Share best practices and co-teach with other teachers.
- Provide support for students' social and emotional needs.
- Use screening and progress monitoring tools to track student improvement.
- Provide staff development opportunities.
- Provide information and support to parents and guardians.
Bachelor's degree in Education.
Licenses or Certifications- Valid Arizona teacher certification.
- Reading endorsement (preferred).
- Math endorsement (preferred).
- ESL/Bilingual endorsement (preferred).
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Experience in academic intervention and support.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
The working environment is the normal office setting.
Terms of EmploymentNine-month school year, certified salary schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
EvaluationPerformance is evaluated in accordance with Board policy on the evaluation of certified staff.
