Job Qualifications
  • Education:

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university.
  • Single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject
  • A valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate, or the ability to obtain one with the appropriate endorsement(s).
  • Valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices.
  • This individual will exhibit the skills pertinent to fostering positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with teachers and staff.
  • Ability to facilitate learning, professional develolpment, instructional oversight, and coaching.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across disciplines.
  • Relevant teaching experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Reports to: Building Principal
Work Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time

  • May supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, and outdoor spaces.
  • Normal 4-8 hour workdays, except professional development, and extracurricular activities may extend work hours.
  • Engaging with diverse teachers, classroom observations, modeling lessons, curriculum support and mapping, and addressing learning differences.
  • May spend long hours standing and walking around the classroom or school premises.
  • May need to lift books, teaching materials, and classroom supplies weighing 20 lbs. or more at times.

Work Responsbilities
  • Planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
  • Prioritize classroom visits in order to support teachers and assist with their retention.
  • Support teachers in the daily implementation of all curriculum and instructional related elements.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with the School Leader and school staff.
  • Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations for the purpose of support, identifying areas of strength and opportunity, and identify professional development needs of classroom teachers.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to teachers.
  • Select appropriate instructional practices for various student groups in support of all teachers.
  • Familiar with a variety of instruments, technology tools, and other resources for assessing and enhancing student performance.
  • Knowledge of how to train staff to map and align the curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment between the locally implemented curriculum and Arizona State Standards.
  • Disaggregate student data for instructional planning and professional development.
  • Ensure alignment between the written, implemented, and assessed curriculum; and provide support in the development of pacing guides.
  • Ensure the development of weekly lesson plans; mentor teachers in the development and implementation of those lesson plans.
