College Pipeline-District Substitute Certified Employment

Hourly rate/$22 per hour; FLSA Non-exempt

Qualifications

Valid Arizona Department of Education Certification is required.

Essential Functions

Arrive before students so that there is ample time to prepare. Assigned to "home" building. Report to the building principal when you arrive ere to the routines of the school, including policies, procedures, and rules. Follow the teacher's lesson plans as closely as possible when assigned as substitute teacher Follow teacher's direction when assigned as classroom aide Seek guidance from the principal or other teachers especially when unsure what to do in difficult situations.

Leave the room in an orderly condition, with all supplies and equipment returned to storage areas. Leave a note for the regular teacher regarding the activities of the day. Report any major disciplinary problems (those that grossly interfered with the learning process) to the principal. After the children have been dismissed, remain in the building until all students are safely on their way home and all responsibilities have been completed.

As a district substitute, placement can be utilized in K8 setting based on need. As a staff member, other duties in supervision of students may be requested. As a staff member, professional development may be offered and/or expected.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand;

walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
