As a full-time Faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. - Based on our Main Campus in Phoenix, AZ, in-person instruction.
- Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum.
- Prepares and delivers lectures to students.
- Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
- Stimulates class discussions.
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
- Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
- Student classroom load will be assigned based upon teaching qualifications and demonstrated classroom facilitation.
- Must have one of the following: have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program; or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013; or have been employed as a full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master's program prior to July 1, 2017;
or have graduated from a rehabilitation doctoral program prior to January 1, 2018. - Independently licensed as a professional counselor
- Maintain an active membership to a recognized professional counseling association (American Counseling Association, ACA preferred).
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to successfully adapt to an e-learning environment.
- Availability to provide 24-hour turnaround responses to student questions and concerns.
- Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, and work in an e-learning environment with students on a daily basis.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
- Has experience conducting research or scholarly related activities.
- Has experience in professional service and advocacy in the counseling field
- Knowledgeable about CACREP standards
- At least one year of experience teaching ground courses.
