Position Summary/Purpose
The Student Intake Specialist – Student Worker has the responsibility of collecting information about new or returning students to ensure admissions files are complete promptly with all transfer transcripts. This position works with student files at any given time, is customer service focused and supports the student in the front-end enrollment process effectively and efficiently. In addition, the student worker is responsible for collecting students’ missing transcripts.
PrimaryResponsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions
Understands and applies GCU admission requirements accurately to all student’s programs of study. Processes all the necessary steps to receive transcripts in accordance with GCU’s workflow, policies, and requirements. Contacts students and other colleges/universities to respond to student transcript status. Responds to students and counselors, regarding transcript statuses in a timely manner with complete and accurate information. Professional, solution-oriented communication with internal and external customers regarding the resolution of missing admission file documents/transcripts.

QualificationsBasic computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite and working with multiple systems at one time. Outstanding attention to detail and effective research skills. Ability to analyze, interpret information, and effectively troubleshoot solutions and assist students/counselors in the collection of transcripts/documents. Able to interact and build relationships with internal and external customers in a professional demeanour. Professional phone skills, able to create urgency in phone conversations to ensure productivity and solution-oriented while remaining respectful/professional.
Ability to work in a team environment collaboratively and cohesively.

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
