The Associate Pastor focusesonhelping people take their Next Step.
Theylead CCV Groups, Next Step Center’s & classes(Starting Point, Baptisms, Financial classes, etc.),andassistin Pastoral Care opportunities.
They also recruit and train their Group Coaches and Next Step Center Coaches.
An Associate Pastor must embodya heart forpeople andpossessthematurity and wisdom to pastorally equip and empowerpeopleas they grow in their faith.
Essential Job Functions
- Help people commit to Jesus Christ & your local campus by executing regular Starting Point classes.
- Champion Starting Point follow-up for yourcampus, andmake sure every person understands their Next Step in their faith journey.
- Own baptism on your campus and ensure that every person is celebrated and challenged to take their Next Step.
- Champion the Next Step Center byhelpingattendeesbecome aware of their Next Step and begin engaging in that Step.
- Help andassistevery person activate their gifts and talents to fulfill the vision of the church.
- Recruit and developgroupcoaches in your AOR.
- Train, empower and encourage your coaches in all areas (best practices, group multiplication, disciple-making, etc.)
- Ensure coaches are actively helping people connectin community, grow spiritually, and take Next Steps.
- Casta clear visionfor how to move people in their Next Step and multiply groups.
- Casta clear visionfor why groups help us fulfill our vision and mission.
- Help coaches remain focused on helping people connectincommunity and challenged to grow in their Next Step.
- Assistin helping people find thebest group near them or for them.
- Empower coaches develop an assistant coach and activate thegifts and talents of those in their group so we canmultiplygroups.
- Providepastoralcare to the people in your AOR as needed.
This includes weddings, funerals, baptisms, hospital/hospice calls, referrals, resources,benevolence and family dedications. - Assistand contributewithyourcampus team in anyeventsregardless of whetherit isin your AOR or not.
- Develop relationships with key members and organizations within yourAOR(school leaders, business leaders, city officials, etc.)
Daily activities may include (but are not limited to) the following:
Meeting with leaders, pastoral care,follow-up from weekend/class/event (via phone, email, 1:1), visiting groups, relationship building, staff engagement, attending campus meetings, assisting with campus events, etc.
