DescriptionThe School of Social Work (SSW) in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor and Social Work Supervisor position beginning October 2026. This position is designed to bridge academic instruction and clinical supervision, student learning integration, and interprofessional education within a community health environment.
This is an in-person position in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
This Clinical Assistant Professor will serve as the Social Work Supervisor for a new longitudinal, interprofessional primary care rotation cent de Paul’s (SVdP) new Eastside branch. In this role, the faculty member will establish student social work placements, clinical rotation workflows, and student learning tasks at the new Eastside facility. Responsibilities include providing direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to Master of Social Work (MSW) students;
delivering direct social work services alongside social work students and trainees from allied fields; and collaborating with faculty and preceptors across medicine, nursing, and allied health professions within an integrated, team-based learning environment that serves medically underserved communities.
This position also involves teaching leadership within the School of Social Work, including classroom instruction, curriculum development, student mentorship, and academic service. The candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in BSW and MSW programs, contribute to curriculum alignment with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) competencies, and participate actively in School life and community-engaged initiatives.
