Piano accompanist

Desert Marigold School is seeking an Accompanist to provide musical support for eurythmy classes, choirclasses, performances, and other school events. This role is vital in fostering a musical environment that aligns with the Waldorf philosophy.

Candidates should have proficiency in piano and experience in accompanying various music ensembles. Strong communication skills and an understanding of Waldorf education principles are essential.

Classical repertoire fluency and advanced playing levels.

The ability to read scores fluently and adapt to live classes and rehearsal tempos or teacher directions in real-time is crucial.

The Accompanist provides musical accompaniment supporting the Eurythmy and Choir classes.

Executive Director and Eurythmy Teacher

Takes instruction from:
Eurythmy Teacher

• Accomplished pianist with a strong background in traditional and contemporary music
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Perform repertoire for Eurythmy classes of Western classical-modern piano music; ability tosight read; very comfortable with improvisation;
• Perform repertoire for choir classes ranging from musical theater to choral classics toarrangements of pop music
• Work in close partnership with the Eurythmy and Choir teachers
• Punctuality and reliability;

• Proficiency in a Classical repertoire
• Ability to sight read and improvise or interpret creatively
• Ability to work collaboratively as an integral part of a team with other faculty onperformances
• Flexibility in schedule and times
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
• Willingness to learn about the core principles of Public Waldorf education arising from the understanding of child development set forth by Rudolf Steiner
• Willingness to follow the requirements of the lessons lead teacher
