Geotechnical Engineering Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead our geotechnical infrastructure projects across global operations. This pivotal role involves managing and reviewing engineering designs for critical structures such as dams, levees, and foundations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and review engineering designs and construction plans for crushed leach pads, dams, levees, and foundations company-wide.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on geotechnical infrastructure projects, providing expert analysis and guidance.
  • Lead critical reviews of geotechnical aspects of infrastructure investigations and designs, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.
  • Oversee large and complex site planning, construction, and modification projects, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to managers and engineers on geotechnical programs, practices, and regulations.
  • Interpret geotechnical theories and practices, offering strategic recommendations to management.
  • Proactively identify and champion new technologies and management programs to optimize operations and safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Expertise in geotechnical design, construction, and management of dams, leach pads, and foundations.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, geotechnical modeling tools).
  • Experience with tailings and water dam design, construction, and operation is highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, approximately five weeks per quarter.
