Summary
The Project Engineer coordinates technical activities on assigned projects, works in conjunction with the Project Manager, monitors work for quality assurance and control, and ensures effective communication among all disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Submittal & Shop Drawing Reviews
- Project Controls:
Document Control, RFI’s, and Schedule Updates - Daily Subcontractor Management
- Quantity Tracking & Verification: performing work Takeoffs
- Quality Assurance/Quality Control
- Extensive regular contact with Haydon crews and/or subcontractors
- Participation in Owner and Subcontractor meetings
- Analytical – synthesizes complex information; designs workflows and procedures.
- Planning/Organizing – prioritizes work activities; sets realistic action plans.
- Communications – strong problem-solving and communication skills; keeps others informed.
- Job Knowledge – competent in required skills; learns and applies new knowledge; works with minimal supervision.
- Quantity – meets productivity standards; works quickly and strives for increased productivity.
- Quality Management – looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering; 0‑3 years experience in heavy civil and related functions plus thorough knowledge of the civil construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Excellent skills in P6 scheduling software and Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On Center OST, and MS Project. High energy level and the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Understands and abides by all government processes and regulations.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
