Overview
Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an immediate opening in our Phoenix, Arizona offices for a Project-Level Environmental Professional (Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer). The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and overseeing environmental site assessments (Phase I and II ESAs), facility investigations, other hazardous waste site investigations, and technical report writing. Other job duties may include: establishing project objectives, procedures and performance standards, and leading multi‑disciplinary teams on site reconnaissance;
soil and groundwater sampling, well installation, air monitoring, and various office tasks, phone/email oversight and management of subcontractors/vendors, and management of project budgets.
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required;
Master’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field a plus.

- ASTM Environmental Professional (EP) (EPA 40 CFR 312.10)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Geologist in Training/Registered/Professional Geologist (GIT/RG/PG)
- EPA Lead Inspector
- EPA Lead Risk Assessor
- AHERA Building Inspector
- AHERA Management Planner
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- and/or other industry‑relevant certification preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
Five to ten years of experience performing most or all of the tasks listed above with at least one year of managing and/or coordinating project budgets and staff. Candidate must also have solid base writing skills, attention to detail, effective inter‑communication skills, familiarity with Phase I (ASTM E1527‑21), Phase II (ASTM E1903), and ability to work independently when required. Collaboration with technical staff on reports and field assignments, and preparation of technical report deliverables, is a must.
Mentor and provide direct, hands‑on assistance when teaching verbal and written skills to staff environmental professionals.
Candidate should have experience providing aforementioned services on a wide variety of sites for clients including public agencies, governments, utilities and private industry (local experience preferred). Experience performing industrial hygiene services (asbestos, lead‑based paint, indoor air quality, mold) is a plus. Oversight and training of staff and prior work history with a consulting firm preferred.
