Senior Estimator-HVAC

We are a commercial mechanical contractor looking for a Senior Mechanical Estimator. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of construction estimating experience with an MEP focus, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams to ensure project success.

Salary: $100,000 - $160,000 per year

The Senior Estimator will maintain accurate take-offs and bid documentation, deliver detailed budgets and change orders on schedule, ensure complete, on‑time project turnovers, and support backlog growth through consistent bid quality.

• Coordinate backlog and bidding priorities with the Chief Estimator and VP of Estimating
• Participate in weekly estimating meetings to review upcoming bid opportunities
• Collaborate with Jr. Estimators to review plans, addenda, and bid documents
• Review project specifications to identify discrepancies, approved materials, and manufacturers
• Attend pre‑construction meetings to gather bid-critical information
• Investigate remodel projects and confirm existing conditions and equipment sizing
• Analyze project schedules for liquidated damages, overtime, and duration impacts
• Complete accurate take‑offs (materials, labor, equipment) and finalize bid recaps
• Prepare detailed scope letters and identify value‑engineering opportunities
• Maintain estimating software databases for material classifications and pricing
• Develop new system enhancements in Estimation/Fast Est for improved efficiency
• Prepare project budgets and turnover documents post‑award
• Support Project Managers and Purchasing with clarifications and change orders
• Review contracts for alignment with scope, exclusions, and bid assumptions

• Minimum 10 years of construction estimating experience (MEP focus required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Fast Est software is a strong plus
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
• Ability to interpret detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Must be willing and able to work on‑site in Phoenix, AZ (no remote option)
