We are seeking a Sr. Global Supply Manager for Interior Hard Trim commodities. The role manages supplier relationships and serves as the primary internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality, and Manufacturing to deliver world-class products on time and cost efficiently. The Global Supply Manager helps establish the global supply chain strategy, supports cross-functional teams during development and industrialization, and drives sound business decisions across the product life cycle.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify qualified suppliers to meet Lucid’s expectations and timeline.
- Create RFQs, review quotations, analyze data, and develop sourcing recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead-time, and technical considerations.
- Negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling/fixtures costs, and Engineering Services (NRE/EDT).
- Coordinate with suppliers and Engineering to release parts into production and issue purchase orders for prototype parts and prototype/production tooling.
- Manage supplier development and tooling timelines, ensure part availability for prototypes and startup of production, and develop solutions to delays.
- Maintain supplier relationships and serve as the point of contact for commercial issues, including internal reporting on sourcing status, parts availability, and cost status.
- Travel 10-20% to visit suppliers for business and program reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, supply chain, or finance discipline with a minimum of 5 years in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience in the automotive industry, preferably in Interior Hard Trim commodities (Interior Hard trims, Headliner, Upper/Lower Trims, Cantrails). Experience with injection molded, painted, and textured parts and processes.
- Preferred automotive experience with related technologies (injection molding, cut & sew wrapping/assembly, compression molding, cover stocks, Class-A painted surfaces, plastic chroming) and experience with automotive interior suppliers (Tier 1 and Tier
2). - Strong interest in understanding manufacturing processes and materials for Interiors commodities.
- Product launch experience with knowledge of quality principles (including AAR Appearance Approval), PPAP, Tier 2 buys, and data analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; team-oriented with the ability to resolve problems and drive results.
- Analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with ownership and hands-on execution capability.
- Ability to manage complex supplier relationships and mitigate issues while preserving internal and supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems (SAP, Coupa, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel as required.
