Assistant Mechanical Detailer

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Mechanical Detailer to support engineering and design teams on a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical drafting career while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.

• Assist in preparing non-routine drawings with complex features using sketches, engineering notes, and verbal guidance
• Support planning and development of detailed engineering drawings under the direction of an engineer
• Combine initial drawings, calculations, and design concepts into complete preliminary design models
• Apply company, client, and project drafting standards to develop control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to verify design requirements and resolve drawing issues
• Execute design revisions and drawing updates
• Contribute to layout, detailing, drafting, and problem analysis across a variety of projects
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to ensure project objectives are achieved
• Maintain and continue developing proficiency in CAD systems

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology (2+ years experience), OR
• Associate degree (3+ years experience), OR
• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of progressive detailing/design experience
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Excel
• Ability to work in both 2D and 3D drafting environments
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-discipline project team environment
• Someone detail-oriented and technically curious
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative engineering setting
