Structural Engineering Intern Fall Co‑Op (Bachelors/Masters) – Fall 2026

CDM Smith is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for a Fall 2026 co‑op. The candidate will work with a dynamic team on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects.

CDM Smith’s structural engineering experience encompasses a comprehensive array of services, including:

• Existing Structures:
  Disaster Response (Flooding, Wind, Earthquake, Snow, Fire);
  Design of Stabilization (Temporary Shoring and Bracing);
  Structural Condition Surveys & Assessment;
  Seismic Evaluation
• New Structures:
  Water Treatment Plants;
  Pump Stations;
  Earth Retaining Systems;
  Shallow & Deep Foundations;
  Industrial Facilities

• CADD Design Project; trained to learn CDM Smith CAD standards
• Web searches and product data updates
• Excel spreadsheet development (macro routines, repetitive calculations)
• Structural library cataloging
• Field inspection work
• Shop drawing reviews

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
