Job Description
As a Sr. Advanced Hardware Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in leading the design and development of advanced hardware systems that push the boundaries of technology. You will leverage your expertise to create innovative solutions that meet complex requirements and support Honeywell's commitment to excellence in aerospace technology.
You will report directly to the Hardware COE Engineering Manager and work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. For the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday through Friday.
In this role, you will impact the future of aerospace hardware development by delivering high‑performance, reliable avionics hardware solutions that enhance Honeywell Aerospace product offerings and contribute to safer, more efficient aerospace operations worldwide.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of advanced avionics hardware systems for aerospace applications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define hardware requirements and ensure design integrity.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware validation to meet stringent aerospace standards.
- Drive innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies into hardware designs.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced hardware design and development within aerospace or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools, with the ability to design complex, high‑reliability hardware systems.
- Proficiency in hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
- Experience with digital and analog circuit design, including high‑speed signal integrity considerations.
- Familiarity with aerospace hardware requirements and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering complex hardware projects on time and within budget.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and innovative thinking to drive hardware advancements.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead engineering teams effectively.
- Knowledge of FPGA and microcontroller‑based hardware design is a plus.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices: TSO, PMA, DO‑160, DO‑254, AS9100.
