As an Advanced Hardware Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and validating advanced hardware solutions that meet the rigorous demands of aerospace applications. You will work on cutting‑edge technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and safety, contributing directly to the innovation and success of our aerospace products.
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. External hires will begin with 90 days on site before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid schedule.
In this role, you will impact the Aerospace (AERO) business unit by delivering high‑quality hardware designs, testing and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to integrate hardware components into complex aerospace systems. Your expertise will help drive product development cycles and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Designing analog and digital circuits for test platforms involves creating specialized hardware that serves as an interface between a unit under test (UUT) and automated test equipment (ATE) or simulation software.
- Perform hardware validation, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with software, systems, and production teams to create test solutions.
- Support product development lifecycle from concept through production and sustainment.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with EMC/EMI, safety, and reliability standards.
- Proven experience in advanced hardware design and development within aerospace or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of electronic hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity.
- Experience with hardware validation, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Design and build automated test setups for validating products.
- Integrate instruments (oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, signal generators).
- Support system‑level integration.
- Perform board bring‑up and debugging.
- Experience with RF component designs and FPGA‑based test interfaces.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with embedded systems hardware and FPGA design.
- Knowledge of system integration and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, power electronics basics, and signal integrity.
- Industry standard design tools like CAD.
- Familiarity with test automation tools (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB).
- PCB debugging and failure analysis.
