Senior Bridge (Structures) Engineer – Phoenix, AZ
Wilson & Company is seeking a full‑time senior bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in our Phoenix Office.
ResponsibilitiesRegular job duties include design and detailing of railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre‑stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures. The engineer will perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing and reviewing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. The candidate will also lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry‑level staff in the design and production of construction drawings.
Communication is key; the engineer must effectively convey information to entry‑level staff, provide reports and updates to senior‑level staff, clients, and collaborate with other offices and Structure Bridge groups. Working in a team environment with engineers from multiple disciplines and locations, the engineer is expected to be available to meet with clients and pursue work.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is a plus) from an ABET accredited school. 10+ years of experience in structural engineering design including bridge, retaining wall and other transportation structures. Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California or ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, quality control of highway structures and/or railroad structures, and familiarity with AASHTO and/or AREMA.
Experience using software such as Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, RISA, LPILE, Mathcad and other related engineering software to design structural elements of bridges.
Location:
Phoenix, AZ | Annual Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000+ (depending on experience)
