Job Description
Join Intel as a Semiconductor Research Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of assembly, packaging, and platform technologies. In this role, you will drive innovative research and development, leveraging your expertise in device physics, electromagnetics theory, thermomechanical analysis, and advanced materials. As part of our dynamic team, you will contribute to groundbreaking scientific research, prototype development, and the exploration of new solutions years ahead of product implementation. - Develop prototypes to demonstrate proof of concepts and design novel devices, packages, and interconnects.
- Establish etest methodologies, metrics, and criteria based on application specifications.
- Provide metrology solutions across production modules, such as lithography, plating, laser, etch and systems requirements.
- Quantify tradeoffs between volume, resolution and time required to collect data, proposing innovative solutions to meet performance demands.
- Collaborate with module, yield, operations, and integration teams to plan, set up, and execute data collection plans.
- Develop and validate methodologies to advance understanding in metrology applications for packaging process development and health monitoring.
- Manage vendor engagements to support research and development activities for substate manufacturing process flow.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and an ability to develop creative solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross‑functional teams.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or BS degree in a specialized field (e.g., Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline).
- 1+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 0 years with a Master's degree.
- Proficiency with semiconductor fabrication processes, including lithography, etch, plating and via formation.
- Expertise in statistics and data analytics.
- Experience with technical documentation and reporting.
- Understanding of RF testing, DC testing, and etest methodologies.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Measurement Systems Analysis.
- Experience in group problem‑solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability in disciplined execution with a focus on performance and innovation.
