- Assisting with failure analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Building, assembling, and testing prototypes to help validate designs.
- Supporting the documentation of design specifications and test results.
- Assisting in developing product testing and validation procedures.
- Collaborating with engineers across disciplines to understand how mechanical designs fit into overall product requirements.
- Creating 2D engineering drawings from 3D CAD models, including views, dimensions, and tolerances, to support prototyping and manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will be:

- Organized and able to manage tasks and priorities effectively.
- Enthusiastic about working in a lab environment to build and test hardware.
- A clear communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- A collaborative team player who is eager to learn from experienced engineers.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (rising Junior or Senior preferred).
- Coursework or academic project experience in mechanical design, materials, or manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Solid Works or another 3D CAD tool (coursework experience is welcome).
- Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings; exposure to GD&T is a plus.
- Exposure to common manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, or stamping through coursework or personal projects.
- Comfort using hand and shop tools to assist with prototype fabrication or modification.
- A willingness to learn design for manufacturability principles on the job.
- Any hands-on project experience (class projects, personal builds, robotics teams, makerspaces, etc.).
- Familiarity with motors or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with or interest in consumer/household product development.
