Role Description
Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join a growing multi‑national engineering team. The position offers flexibility through hybrid work arrangements and can report to any of the Western US offices. You will work on diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects, supporting our emerging contaminant portfolio and remediation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) with planning and performing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Perform civil engineering design tasks including land development planning, pipelines, storm water systems, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design.
- Develop permit and construction‑level drawings and details, prepare technical specifications, and conduct construction cost evaluation/estimating.
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
- Conduct fieldwork with a focus on health and safety: soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, geotechnical investigations, and construction oversight.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, estimate costs, prepare health & safety plans, conduct regulatory file reviews, write proposals, develop project strategies, manage schedules and budgets, and establish subcontracts.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- EIT Certification.
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Advanced proficiency with engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Hydro
CAD, WinTR‑55, Pond Pack, HEC‑RAS, and ArcGIS.
The role requires regional business travel and occasional U.S. travel of one to four weeks. Estimated travel is up to 25% in the first two years, with expenses reimbursed.

The salary range for this position is $76,982 – $115,474.
