Talascend is currently seeking a Systems Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

The role involves designing, developing, integrating, and verifying control systems for auxiliary power units in the engines & power systems business unit, supporting the creation of system solutions to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

Working with a team to develop control system components (LRUs) and electronic controllers for a new APU program
Executing and documenting trade studies
Developing and implementing the MBSE and digital engineering architecture for a new APU controls development program
Integrating control systems with APU
Developing and validating control system requirements, analysis, and decomposition
Developing and implementing control algorithms and software for APUs
Designing, integrating, and validating control systems
Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering
8+ years of systems engineering experience in support of safety-critical aerospace development
Strong knowledge and understanding of control systems engineering principles and processes
Experience with control system design, implementation, and testing

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with control system development for aerospace applications
Experience providing hands-on coaching, training, and support for engineering team members
Experience with IBM ELM and CAMEO
Knowledge of APU systems and their integration into aircraft
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to control systems in aerospace applications
Self-motivation to work independently and take initiative
Ability to adapt to new information and direction
Ability to make autonomous decisions
