Substation Designer (Contract-to-Hire)

Location:

Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, or Albuquerque, NM (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

* Design and develop electrical substation layouts, drawings, and specifications

* Support transmission & distribution (T&D/TDP) and power delivery projects

* Collaborate with engineers and technical teams on complex infrastructure initiatives

* Contribute to grid modernization efforts, including data center support

* Participate in design reviews to ensure quality, safety, and constructability

* Identify design challenges and implement effective solutions

Qualifications

* Experience in substation design and engineering

* Strong knowledge of power delivery systems and T&D projects

* Ability to create and review technical drawings and documentation

* Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

* Must be able to commute to office 2-3 days per week

Preferred:

* Experience with large-scale power users (e.g., data centers)

* Experience in power infrastructure modernization projects

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
