Job Overview
As an Advanced Facility Control Engineer in Engineering Test Services at Honeywell Aerospace, you will expand our knowledge of turbo machines and other aerospace hardware by overseeing development programs that involve testing and troubleshooting various aspects of aerospace hardware. You will report directly to our Senior Test Engineering Manager and work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on an onsite schedule.
Responsibilities- Develop and support LabVIEW and PLC software solutions for aerospace test stands and equipment (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Phoenix Contact).
- Design test cell control systems from concept, drawings, construction, to commissioning.
- Troubleshoot software controls and communication issues; modify facility screens to add capabilities.
- Respond quickly with quality solutions to support customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 5+ years of experience in LabVIEW software development.
- 5+ years of test and measurement experience.
- Experience in Ladder Logic and Python.
- Testing environment experience overseeing hardware testing.
- Technical leadership and design.
- Experience with PLCs (Phoenix Contact, Allen‑Bradley, Emerson).
- AutoCAD Electrical usage.
- Knowledge of industry electrical standards (UL 508A, NFPA 79, IEC, NEC).
- Understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
- Experience operating standard test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Proficiency with LabVIEW protocols (SCPI, OPC UA, Modbus).
- LabVIEW certifications (CLAD, CLD, CLA).
- Experience with NI hardware (PXI, cRIO) and LabVIEW Real‑Time/FPGA programming.
- Safety and data quality focus.
- Ability to work with minimal direction in cross‑functional teams.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Analytical technical problem solving.
