Position Overview
Terracon is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Compliance Leader to join our Team in Arizona.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead regulatory compliance efforts in Arizona and assist staff and clients across the country.
We are looking for someone with broad compliance experience that can mentor staff and build our regulatory compliance practice in Arizona and to join our nationwide compliance team. Some of the compliance skills we are currently looking for include:
- Air permitting (Title V and minor source)
- Stormwater/SWPPP
- RCRA/Hazardous waste
- Compliance auditing
- Oil Storage/SPCC plans
- SARA Title III (Tier II/TRI) reporting
- Industrial wastewater/NPDES
- Sustainability/ESG
To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident and possess a strong technical background with proven leadership skills. You will manage projects, prepare reports and other deliverables, and review documents prepared by others for accuracy, completeness, and quality following company standards. You will also develop client relationships and train, mentor, and direct staff on projects. You will serve as a local point of contact for Environmental Compliance services and provide support on regional and national projects and pursuits.
EssentialRoles and Responsibilities
- Grow and expand existing environmental compliance services.
- Understand the local, regional, and Arizona market.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients.
- Participate in the development of local and regional marketing strategies.
- Develop proposals in response to RFPs and client requests.
- Prepare calculations, applications, plans, reports, proposals, and other deliverables.
- Manage projects and staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Support safety efforts to promote safety rules and guidelines.
- Evaluate problems and develop practical solutions that enable our clients to achieve and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in a full-time consulting role
- Proven ability to engage and lead a team of technical staff and mentor their growth
- Demonstrated high level of technical writing ability
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work and possess a positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-Hour refresher preferred
