Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
WSP is conducting a search for a Full‑Time Associate Project Manager who will work out of Chicago, IL;
Denver, CO;
Exton, PA;
Phoenix, AZ; or Tampa, FL.
The successful candidate will have experience managing a variety of projects, including repairs, modifications, light construction, and providing technical direction on building/facilities projects.
Responsibilities- Supporting the review of scopes of work, client requests, subcontractor bid reviews, and preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
- Managing projects upon award of task orders.
- Coordinating subcontractors, including preparation of quotes and requisition requests.
- Monitoring budgets and schedules while adhering to cost and delivery contractual commitments.
- Documenting project tasks and deliverables on a weekly basis.
- Maintaining a weekly project / task log in a professional template.
- Recording and documenting significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging.
- Quality control, documentation, and resolution of poor‑quality work, repair, installation, or materials selection by contractors, trade disciplines, and suppliers.
- Controlling change orders, including detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements.
- Ensuring job safety, monitoring, and compliance with WSP and USPS SH&E requirements.
- Interface with client contacts as required.
- Preparing project deliverable packages and submittals.
- Providing overnight travel support to less than 10% of the time.
- Implementing standards in compliance with USPS/WSP program requirements.
- Applying knowledge of repair, maintenance, and construction processes.
- Demonstrating project management skills: integration, coordination, scope, time, cost, quality, change, and communication management.
- Ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards and contract requirements.
- Maintaining precise record keeping per contract and regulatory requirements.
- Complying with all USPS/WSP Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Working with various building types, such as post offices, mail processing facilities, and maintenance facilities.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated success in repair services, maintenance, construction management, or related disciplines.
- Prior relevant project management experience preferred.
- Experience working with outside third‑party vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to self‑motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Experience acting in a repair/maintenance or construction management capacity on light industrial or commercial projects.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of environmental, safety, and health regulatory compliance.
- Negotiation and construction management experience/skills.
- Resourceful, well organized, dependable, efficient, and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with technical disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules related to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, and building structures.
- Ability to work in varying environments (office and field settings).
- Willingness to work occasional off hours, evenings, and weekends if required.
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays, and flexible hours.
- Must pass drug test, background check, and company Motor Vehicle Record check.
Expected Salary (all locations): $82,000 to $126,600.
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $88,500 to $126,600.
