Job Description
The Fiber Engineer supports major fiber build projects with a primary focus on Outside Plant (OSP) design and field engineering. The role reviews and optimizes low‑level designs from GC partners, ensures constructability and permitting compliance, and supports projects from design through construction while meeting budget and regulatory requirements.
Day‑to‑Day- Review and optimize LLDs from GC partners for constructability and cost efficiency
- Design and support OSP fiber networks, including feeder and distribution facilities
- Support OSP construction activities, field coordination, and contractor oversight
- Assist with permitting and ROW compliance
- Track costs and support budget and variance analysis
- Build and maintain Excel‑based reporting and tracking tools

- Strong hands‑on experience with OSP fiber design and construction (primary focus)
- Experience reviewing and optimizing Low‑Level Designs (LLD) for constructability, efficiency, and cost savings
- DOT, permitting, and ROW knowledge
- Solid Excel / Microsoft Office skills:
- Lookups, Pivot Tables, data manipulation
- Spreadsheet‑based reporting (~30% of role)
- Experience with job costing, budget tracking, and cost variance analysis
- Experience with engineering or GIS tools
- Prior field engineering or contractor oversight experience
- Experience editing PDFs for permitting and design documentation
- Large‑scale fiber deployment project experience
