Manage and direct all aluminum casting operations, including melting, casting, and sawing, to meet production goals while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and maintenance standards.
What you will be doing- Responsible for the safety of all Cast House employees.
- Will be the site SPA for Molten Metal.
- Responsible for performance management evaluation process for the Cast House employees, both salaried and hourly.
- Willingness and ability to hold subordinates accountable for their areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards and keeping training up to date for both direct and indirect reporting employees.
- Responsible for maximizing scrap utilization and minimizing prime utilization.
- Accountable for on time delivery to the next customer both internal and external.
- Drive Safety to be engrained in the culture of the Cast House employees.
Required Education/Experience
:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aluminum casting, extrusion or related industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience in an industrial plant.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
:
- Experience with lean 6 sigma a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Metallurgy or equivalent.
- In depth knowledge of casting process, operation of equipment, aluminum alloys and standards, use of precision instruments and customer orders and specifications.
- Ability to use various systems to track, understand, report and improve on all KPI’s.
- Experience with ISO 9000 and/or ISO/TS 16949 Quality Systems.
- Travel up to 5%
