** The Opportunity*
* This opportunity with Black & Veatch offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Governments & Communities (G&C) Market Sector, supporting Water and Industrial Water projects and delivering critical infrastructure for municipal and industrial clients. Mechanical(piping) professionals contribute to project execution by developing and modifying piping layouts andmodels for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.

This includes coordinating system routing and interfaces with process equipment, structures, and underground utilities to ensure constructable and efficient designs.

The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Assistant Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high‑quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under close supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on developing and updating 3D piping layouts andmodel‑based drawings using Autodesk Revit.

+ Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline

+ Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions

+ Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables

+ Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards

+ Establishes and communicates appropriate design and graphic standards

+ Reviews project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content
