Plumbing Designer

Kraemer Consulting Engineers P.L.L.C. is a Phoenix-based mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design firm delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a wide range of building projects. As we continue to grow and take on new projects, we are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Plumbing Designer to support our ongoing project work.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Phoenix, AZ.

As a Plumbing Designer, you will play a key role in designing and developing plumbing systems for commercial building projects. You will collaborate closely with engineers and project teams to produce accurate, high-quality construction documents and coordinated system designs.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on design work, working across disciplines, and contributing to projects from concept through construction.

• Design and develop plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
• Prepare construction drawings and detailed layouts using AutoCAD and Revit
• Perform basic system calculations and support equipment sizing and selection
• Coordinate with mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and architectural teams to ensure integrated designs
• Review and revise drawings based on project needs, feedback, and field conditions
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Support project teams in meeting deadlines and deliverables

• 5+ years of experience in plumbing design or MEP/building systems design
• Experience preparing construction documents and working on commercial building projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and design standards
• Experience coordinating with HVAC/mechanical systems is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Experience working in an MEP consulting or engineering firm
• Exposure to a variety of project types (commercial, mixed-use, industrial, etc.)
• Experience working across multiple phases of design and construction
