Mission Critical Project Engineer – (Scottsdale, AZ + Project Site in Mesa)

We’re seeking a motivated Mission Critical Project Engineer to support high-impact data center and mission critical projects. Position OverviewThe Project Engineer will play a critical role in supporting project execution from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with field teams, subcontractors, and project leadership. This position offers significant responsibility, exposure to complex projects, and a clear path for advancement in project management.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce and promote jobsite safety standards, conducting weekly inspections and monthly audits.
- Support quality control processes and conduct quality assurance reviews.
- Assist with preconstruction efforts, including estimating, takeoffs, and schedule development.
- Participate in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
- Help prepare and submit project proposals and permit applications.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment and track deliveries.
- Manage key project documentation, including RFIs, Submittals, Change orders, and Meeting minutes.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project records and logs.
- Identify and proactively resolve project risks and issues.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
- Support adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- 1+ year of construction experience (mission critical preferred).
- Working knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship required).
- Experience working on data center, mission critical, or high‑tech construction projects.
- Exposure to conceptual estimating and bid processes.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self‑starter with a strong work ethic and desire to grow.
- Combination of office (Scottsdale) and active construction site (Mesa).
- Work performed in both office/field office settings and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to typical construction site factors (noise, equipment, etc.).
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, and computer work for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs; may require travel depending on project needs; high level of autonomy and decision-making responsibility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
