We are looking for a Database Engineer in Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid). Contract Duration: 24 months.
Required Skills & Experience- 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 5+ years of Database Operations experience with MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB.
- Experience with automation tools and AI for database alerting.
- Financial industry experience.
- Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Database Engineering and contribute to large‑scale planning related to Database Engineering deliverables.
- Review and analyze moderately complex Database Engineering challenges that require an in‑depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Database Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with client personnel in Database Engineering.
- Lead and participate in database management activities, including designing highly complex MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB databases.
- Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts for MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB databases.
- Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases.
- Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing.
- Design and certify next‑generation database technologies.
- Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high‑impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction.
- Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology.
- Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Ability to see the big picture and influence future direction in alignment with DMO and enterprise goals.
- Streamline repeatable build and operational support practices that scale with technology changes.
- Develop database high‑availability and replication solutions to meet the requirements of high‑tier applications.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for the DMO organization by gaining technical depth and breadth with new features, products and tools.
- Drive adoption of standard operational practices to deliver highly available solutions.
- Participate in an on‑call DBA rotation.
- Take a lead role in projects that have a broad impact. Strong customer‑service focus.
