Our client is an established OSAT (outsourced assemble & test) Manufacturing facility in the Phoenix AZ vicinity, and is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join the team and lead in building the foundation and EHS systems for the new 2M+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility site.

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the overall EHS programs related to the construction, operation, and permitting of environmental facilities within the workplace. The manager partners with site leadership to develop a culture that identifies health and safety opportunities, documents them for trends and predictive analysis, and aligns with environmental, health, and safety management systems.

• Primary focus points include accident prevention, EHS regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, scrap reduction, environmental management systems, and EPA certification systems.
• Ensure all equipment operations, repairs, modifications, and maintenance meet manufacturer requirements and align with environmental protection standards.
• Manage projects with third-party vendors for equipment selection, implementation, preventive system design, manufacturing equipment, production escalation processes, and facility environmental design.
• Serve as the primary strategic contact regarding all environmental health and safety factors, providing guidance for a safe working environment for employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Conduct regular inspections, GEMBA walks, or assessments of the facility and EHS programs.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot environmental utilities including UPW, wastewater treatment systems, organics, in organics, BRF, and APCS.

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or related fields.
• Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
• 10+ years of experience with environmental systems design in various settings, including design, construction, equipment installation, operations, and maintenance of site facilities.
• Familiarity with EPA permitting, OSHA, ISO 14001, water, wastewater, UPW, air purification, certification processes, and risk mitigation.
• Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, regulations, safety protocols, and ensuring EHS adherence from design to maintenance of environmental systems SOPs.
• Demonstrates competence and comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines such as automation controls, water, gas, chemicals, or environmental systems.
• Provide EHS, safety, and transformational leadership to direct reports, departmental leaders, stakeholders, and personnel involved in the manufacturing site.
