The Group You’ll Be A Part Of
Lam’s Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers' installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
Impact You’ll MakeAs a Field Process Engineer, you are a customer‑focused expert on our equipment, pushing the boundaries to meet customer needs. You are responsible for completing process support, evaluation, and documentation of process outputs for hardware modifications and upgrades. You play a vital role in supporting customers in installations, training, and identifying design improvements with product groups.
What You’ll Do- Provide process support and installation of Lam equipment at customer sites.
- Complete Design of Experiments (DOE) evaluations to characterize process windows for new installations or modifications.
- Develop new processes for small variants to existing customer applications.
- Conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customers to understand their needs, technology roadmaps, process flows, requirements, and business challenges.
- Represent Lam to our valued customers and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Present technical and marketing materials with a win‑win mindset to keep customers informed about products and services to address their needs.
- Master’s degree in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a closely related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing personal protective safety equipment or a cleanroom suit, and be on‑call if needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with customers.
- Proven logical thinking and structured problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and propose actionable solutions.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab, Excel).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent tools for documentation and presentations.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work in cleanroom environments and be on‑call when required.
This is a graduate eligible role.
Preferred Qualifications Process Engineering Knowledge- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
- Experience in troubleshooting process issues and implementing continuous improvements.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) is a plus.
- Sabre tools.
- Electroplating a plus.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On‑site Flex and Virtual Flex. On‑site Flex requires working 3+ days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week.
Virtual Flex requires working 1–2 days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
