Position Summary
The Sr. Test Technician plays a critical role in supporting Mercury Systems' high-reliability defense and aerospace products. This position is responsible for performing complex testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities on electronic assemblies, subsystems, and systems. The Sr. Test Technician works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Program teams to ensure products meet technical specifications, performance requirements, and compliance standards.
Job Responsibility- Perform functional, environmental, and performance testing on electronic modules, circuit card assemblies, and system-level products.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failures using oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, test procedures, and technical documentation to verify product performance and identify root causes of defects.
- Execute test plans accurately, document results thoroughly, and ensure test records meet internal and customer compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to support failure analysis, corrective action initiatives, and process improvements.
- Support new product introduction by participating in test readiness reviews, reviewing documentation, and providing feedback on manufacturability and testability.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, ensuring adherence to standard work, best practices, and safety protocols.
- Maintain test equipment, ensure calibration requirements are met, and report equipment issues promptly.
- Follow all Mercury Systems, Inc. quality, safety, and configuration control standards.
- Several years of hands‑on testing experience in electronics manufacturing, defense/aerospace, or a related high‑reliability environment.
- Strong proficiency with electronic test equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Experience with RF, digital, analog, or mixed‑signal testing (depending on business area).
- Solid understanding of ESD, IPC standards, and general electronics manufacturing practices.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; comfortable interacting with engineers and cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support fast‑paced production environments.
- Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent technical training preferred; electronics training accepted.
