Job Description

A detail-oriented Electrical Drafter is needed to support the production of high-quality construction documents for electrical and MEP systems, with a particular emphasis on tool installation projects. The role involves 2D AutoCAD drafting, sheet setup, and multi-discipline coordination, offering exposure to complex mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and modify electrical and MEP construction documents using AutoCAD (2D).

* Support tool install design packages, including layout coordination for electrical and mechanical systems.

* Set up drawing files, manage X-references, and maintain proper layer standards in AutoCAD.

* Insert and coordinate external backgrounds, vendor drawings, and installation details into design packages.

* Perform sheet setup, plotting, and organization of full construction drawing sets for MEP and tool install projects.

* Assist with drafting of electrical plans, power distribution layouts, and associated mechanical utility connections.

* Coordinate routing for conduit, cable tray, and mechanical systems in congested tool install environments.

* Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines (mechanical, process, facilities) to incorporate markups and revisions.

* Maintain drawing accuracy, organization, and adherence to internal CAD standards and project requirements.

* Support cross-disciplinary coordination efforts to ensure constructability and compliance within MEP systems.

Essential Skills

* High proficiency in AutoCAD with a minimum of 1 year of experience.

* Experience with X-referencing files and managing layers.

* Ability to insert external drawings and details.

* Skill in sheet setup and construction document organization.

* Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.

* Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Experience with MEP electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.).

* Exposure to or working knowledge of Revit.

* Previous experience supporting electrical engineers or MEP design teams.

* Familiarity with construction document standards and workflows.

Work Environment

The position is 100% on-site in a trailer at TSMC, with working hours from 7AM to 4PM. The role offers a short-term contract with the opportunity to work on a flagship project. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance fully covered for the employee, with dependents added as an out-of-pocket deduction. Paid Time Off is accrued at 5 hours per pay period, totaling approximately 16 days per year, with 40 hours of paid sick time and 9 paid holidays.

A SIMPLE IRA retirement match is available after earning $5k for the year, with a match up to 3% of salary deductions. All benefits are available after 30 days of employment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
