Our client is a wholesale manufacturer providing prefabricated buildings and structures to modular building dealers within an approved network. These dealers sell or lease buildings to end users, with projects ranging in size from small, single-wide modular units up to large, 180,000+ SF multi-story, complexes across the United States and its territories.

Position Overview
We are looking for an EIT with a background in structural engineering to join our team. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Phoenix, Arizona, requiring an in-office presence three to five days a week. Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Engineering, this role will work closely with the engineering group and will also provide support to the sales, estimating, and production teams as required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural analysis and engineering design principles for both gravity and lateral systems. Previous experience gained in an engineering setting such as participating in drafting responsibilities and the shop drawing review process is preferred but not required. Field inspection experience is also a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university
Certification:
- Intent to pursue Civil/Structural PE licensure
- NCEES Record is a plus
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related field
- Experience in load development and correct application to the structure
- Experience developing structural calculations for gravity and lateral systems
- Experience reviewing drawings and developing structural details
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Structural analysis / engineering design software proficiency in:
- Excel (in-house database usage)
- RISA 3D
- RGS Software - CFS 14
- Ability to develop gravity and lateral systems from concept through completion.
- Ability to analyze and provide structural designs with many different materials such as wood, cold-formed steel and structural steel.
- Ability to provide a complete design of various building components (including roof rafters, wall studs, floor joists, clearspan steel trusses, shearwall panels, structural steel portal frames and many others)
- Familiarity with current building codes (IBC, ASCE, NDS, AISC, AISI)
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing elements in building design
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, reviewing, and verifying structural components for prefabricated buildings
- Support the preparation of structural calculations and supplemental engineering as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with engineering standards and building codes
- Contribute to project plan development and approvals
