About the Position

The Mechanical HVAC & Plumbing Project Manager has the primary role of managing all phases of mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and specialized data center infrastructure. The Project Manager oversees planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and communication to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Verify project scope, review all construction documents, and ensure information is clearly distributed to all team members and subcontractors.
  • Set up and maintain project documentation systems including Bluebeam sessions, schedules, drawings, specifications, RFI logs, submittal logs, QA/QC records, and correspondence folders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, and procurement timelines to ensure materials, equipment, and workforce are available when needed.
  • Manage procurement of materials and equipment, including reviewing vendor and subcontractor proposals, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and submittal requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and process change orders, vendor quotes, RFIs, invoices, and field pricing impacts.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and superintendents to support installation activities, rental equipment needs, quality control updates, and timely issue resolution.
  • Inspect delivered equipment with field leadership, verify against approved submittals, document any damage, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of safety certifications, QA/QC documentation, jobsite photos, crane picks, and general contractor communications.
  • Lead and manage commercial mechanical HVAC and plumbing projects, including mission-critical data center environments, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and code compliance standards.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, units, chilled water systems, hydronic systems, and domestic water systems.
  • Track project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance; provide accurate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings, providing updates on schedule, budget, procurement, and changes in scope.
  • Manage project closeout activities, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, equipment startup records, and warranty documentation.
What you need
  • Mission-critical data center project experience preferred (mechanical/HVAC).
  • 5+ years of commercial mechanical project management experience (HVAC and/or plumbing).
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems and building codes.
  • Experience with data center mechanical systems preferred: chilled water plants, HVAC equipment, units, economizers, BMS/controls coordination, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Proficient with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, and Procore.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
