Inter Link Engineering, LLC supports a wide variety of industries with a primary focus on product development, reverse engineering, and design for manufacturing support. Our capabilities allow us to support our customers by either performing engineering tasks at our facility or at our customer sites as required.

We are looking for one or two Solid Works Mechanical Design Engineers with experience in product development or manufacturing, especially involving sheet metal, as well as 3D modeling and 2D drawing using Solid Works. We have a couple opportunities opening contractual positions at a nearby client’s location, with the possibility of direct hire through the client or continued work through Inter Link, allowing for a variety of different industry and project experiences.

• Design new products from scratch and make improvements to existing products using Solid Works CAD under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
• Quickly transform ideas and rough sketches into 3D models, then into working engineering drawings.
• Create detailed 2D drawings of parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with a small- to mid-sized team and keep projects confidential.
• Rapid prototype and adjust immediately to design changes.
• Assist in the procurement, construction, and testing of prototypes and new products.
• Analyze data, review drawings for completeness, conduct design reviews with product management and suppliers to gain final approval.
• Support Lean and Quality initiatives to reduce variability in designs.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Support product launch in a production environment – training and quality inspections.

• Able to sit for long periods of time (Frequently).
• Able to effectively operate CAD system (Constantly).
• Able to communicate effectively in all media (Constantly).

• Highly proficient in Solid Works, with a solid understanding of project management and Bill of Materials.
• Knowledgeable in common metal fabrication and machining processes.
• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience.
• Capable of tolerance stacks and analysis.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to network with associates in other departments to find needed information.
• Willingness to consider change and adapt.
• Must be a local Greater Phoenix resident with reliable transportation for getting to and from work.

• Knowledge of Lean practices.
• Hands‑on ability to take designs and create physical prototypes (mechanical aptitude).
• Certified Solid Works Professional.
• GD&T training certification.
• Expert knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 drawing and tolerance standards.
• CFD Analysis experience.
• Surfacing or plastic design experience.
• Tool and fixture design experience.
• Ability to multi‑task and function in a production environment.
• Motivated, self‑starter with the ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with DoD, vehicle, or aerospace product development.
