- Piping 3D CAD Designer / BIM Engineer - 1 year Project-Based Position with a potential of being directly hired depending on performance
- We are seeking a highly skilled Piping 3D CAD Designer / BIM Engineer well-versed in industrial piping design for major semiconductor construction site projects. In this role, you will design 3D piping models aligned with P&IDs, manage specifications, eliminate interferences, and coordinate directly with cross-functional on-site stakeholders.
- 3D Modeling & Layout
:
Develop comprehensive 3D model designs for piping, mounting supports, and installed equipment (such as rotators, heat exchangers, and tower tanks) utilizing Plant3D and based on P&IDs and Plot Plans. Ensure models accurately capture details like pipe size, material, and quantity. - Specification & Catalog Management
:
Handle advanced project setups, register custom catalogs, and manage piping specifications (including piping class, diameter, material, and standards) while ensuring bolt lengths calculate automatically. - Clash Detection & Resolution
:
Perform advanced collision and interference checks using Navisworks Manage/Simulate. Set precise clearance conditions, create/manage viewpoints, and output detailed reports to eliminate site interferences. - Material Extraction
:
Accurately extract piping lengths, fittings, and valve quantities directly from 3D data. Create Bill of Materials/Material Take-Off (BOM/MTO) lists by hand using model attribute data, organizing them by line, system, and area for procurement and cost management. - Progress Tracking & Dashboards
:
Define milestones and continuously track the manufacturing, welding, and on-site installation status for each individual spool unit. Build and manage visualization dashboards using Excel and Power BI for internal management and client reporting. - Documentation & Coordination
:
Draft General Assemblies and practical spool diagrams using Plant3D’s 2D cropping functions. Maintain unified revision control across all models and outputs while directly collaborating and negotiating with customers, design teams, and subcontractors on-site. - Working Hours
: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Subject to overtime up to 10:00 PM during peak periods) - Employment Type

Full-time (1-year fixed-term contract with an initial 3-month probationary period)

- Software Expertise
:
Proven practical experience and expert-level operation in Plant3D project setup, specification registration for piping parts/steel, and AutoCAD. High proficiency with Navisworks Manage/Simulate functions. - Technical Knowledge
:
Deep understanding of piping design fundamentals, engineering drawing reading, and full comprehension of piping material specifications (standards, fittings, connection methods, and steel material characteristics). - Data & Systems
:
Ability to build progress visualization systems using Excel and Power BI. - Language Skills
:
English:
Native level (Japanese: Not required, but conversational skills are a plus). - Requirements
:
Valid U.S. work authorization and a valid Driver’s License are required. - Education & Background (Preferred):
Associate degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, and experience in the construction industry.
