Overview

Ocotillo Technology Fabrication (OTF) at Intel Chandler, Arizona is part of Intel Foundry’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain Group (FMSC). The site produces high‑volume Intel silicon using advanced manufacturing processes and is expanding to support new technology nodes such as Intel 18A and beyond.

We are seeking a Senior Litho Process Engineer focused on reticles/masks to lead a team that develops efficient manufacturing methods to increase yield, reduce cost, and maintain high quality for Intel’s latest technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety and workplace organization; maintain exact copy of equipment configuration, parameters, and targeting to defined standards.
  • Regularly review reticle inspection equipment and availability to guarantee matching and repeatability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tool health and process matching for reticle platforms, utilizing virtual factory BIC performance learnings and improvement roadmaps across factory pillars.
  • Improve mask health and defect containment to prevent excursions and maintain highest quality standards, applying virtual factory learnings throughout mask shop creation.
  • Apply model‑based problem solving to identify root causes of reticle changes, mismatches from target, monitor failures, or print changes, and develop permanent solutions.
  • Conduct tests and measurements to control variables such as photo‑induced defects, environmental changes, mask creation variability, and yield marginalities.
  • For new technology start‑ups, manage tool installations, conversions, and qualifications, delivering sigma‑matched performance and recipe matching.
  • Develop systems to model reticle changes and monitor reticle health.
Candidate Profile
  • Expertise in mask shop processing, advanced clean processes, photo‑induced defect mode detection, phase‑shift and advanced mask imaging techniques, frame layout techniques, and defect classification.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills; ability to set high expectations and drive accountability.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication; ability to work independently and manage stakeholders.
  • High motivation, strong work ethic, analytical mind, and ability to analyze complex data and perform failure mode engineering analysis.
  • Ability to build interactions with Intel support groups such as mask shop production and reticle delivery teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related science or engineering field with 7 years of process engineering experience in wafer fabrication.
  • At least 5 years of reticle lithography experience in process flow, troubleshooting equipment, model‑based problem solving, vendor field service interaction, quality direction, advanced data analysis, and lithography theory.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. with 5 years of related experience.
  • Technical expertise in photolithography reticle equipment and risk modeling; ability to provide technical direction on quality issues, lithography matching performance, and yield improvement.
  • Understanding of reticle print risks and interactions with lithography patterning equipment such as EUV and immersion lithography.
  • Experience working in a mask shop focused on processing and yield.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing science, capacity metrics, in‑line and EOL defect and excursion prevention/response.
  • Leadership experience of senior cross‑function or cross‑organization teams.
  • Data analysis skills (JMP, SPC, MATLAB, Mathematica) and DOE principles.
  • Experience with Intel engineering or knowledge of Intel systems and processes a plus.
  • Previous or current US Government contracts experience.
  • Active US Government Security Clearance at least at Secret level.
