Calculations:
- Perform gravity & lateral calculations for concrete building elements including:
- Post tensioned slab design
- Mild reinforced slab design
- Concrete column design
- Lateral analysis & shear wall or moment frame design
- Calculations for miscellaneous minor steel framing such as canopies or elevator support framing
- Concrete tilt panel wall reinforcing
- Drawings:
- Redline drawings to coordinate with calculations
- Draw details for specific project conditions
- The ability to use or willingness to learn to use REVIT for 3D modeling is a plus
- Project Management & Construction Administration:
- Participate in coordination meetings with the project team
- Review and respond to RFI's
- Review shop drawings
- Provide project site visits when required
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural concentration preferred) & 3 years of relevant work experience
- AutoCAD, BIM, and Bluebeam experience desired but not required
- Detail oriented, organized and self-motivated
- Desire & willingness to learn
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer/Designer to support the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for concrete building projects. This role involves preparing structural calculations, developing construction drawings, and collaborating closely with project teams throughout design and construction. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in structural engineering principles, a willingness to learn new tools and processes, and a proactive approach to project coordination and construction administration.
The Structural Designer will contribute to gravity and lateral system design, including post-tensioned and mild-reinforced concrete slabs, concrete columns, shear walls, moment frames, and miscellaneous steel framing. Responsibilities also include coordinating design calculations with drawings, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and participating in project meetings and site visits as needed. Experience with AutoCAD, BIM tools, and Bluebeam is a plus, along with an interest in developing skills in REVIT-based 3D modeling.
