Project OverviewWe are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil project and looking for motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects are hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings. This is your opportunity to be part of history making projects.
Job SummaryThe Principal Hydraulic Engineer will lead hydraulic engineering support to the engineering, procurement, and construction teams. The majority of the work will be carried out in areas of design, specification, and construction oversight of hydro projects: hydraulic structures power house hydraulics (such as valves, pumps/turbines, draft tubes), conveyance systems, hydraulic transient analysis, dam break flooding analysis, hydrologic analyses, and other hydraulics and hydrology (H&H) tasks as required.
MajorResponsibilities
- Provides technical direction and oversight of hydraulic engineering work related to pumped storage hydropower project including hydraulic modeling, design of hydraulic structures (such as inlet/outlet, surg shaft, spillway, energy dissipators) conveyance systems (such as piping, tunnels, canals), power hours hydraulics (such as valves, pumps/turbines, draft tubes), hydraulic transient analysis, dam break flooding analysis and hydrologic analyses. In addition will coordinate with Corporate Engineering H&H any tasks related to flood protection and mitigation, erosion and scour protection, stormwater management and drainage design, sediment control design and associated permitting applications produced for the project for both permanent and temporary facilities as required.
- Plans and conducts independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, and supervises design work produced by subcontractors.
- Develops plans and schedules and conducts and coordinates each phase of hydrologic and hydraulics design development for the project.
- Prepares and/or reviews specifications, design manuals, design criteria, and design standards.
- Performs technical reviews of H&H engineering designs prepared by design subcontractors. Coordinates functional reviews with the Corporate Manager of H&H Engineering.
- Performs value engineering, constructability reviews, safety reviews, and O&M reviews.
