We are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil projects and are seeking motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects involve hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings.
This is your opportunity to be part of history-making projects.
Job SummaryThe Principal Hydraulic Engineer will lead hydraulic engineering support to the engineering, procurement, and construction teams. The majority of the work will be in design, specification, and construction oversight of hydro projects: hydraulic structures (valves, pumps/turbines, draft tubes, inlet/outlet, surge shafts, spillways, energy dissipators), conveyance systems (piping, tunnels, canals), hydraulic transient analysis, dam break flooding analysis, hydrologic analyses, and other hydraulics and hydrology (H&H) tasks as required.
MajorResponsibilities
- Provide technical direction and oversight of hydraulic engineering work related to pumped storage hydro project including hydraulic modeling, design of hydraulic structures, conveyance systems, hydraulic transient analysis, dam break flooding analysis and hydrologic analyses. Coordinate with Corporate Engineering H&H on flood protection and mitigation, erosion and scour protection, stormwater management and drainage design, sediment control design and permitting for permanent and temporary facilities as required.
- Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; supervise design work produced by subcontractors.
- Develop plans and schedules and coordinate each phase of hydrology and hydraulics design development for the project.
- Prepare and/or review specifications, design manuals, design criteria, and design standards.
- Perform technical reviews of H&H engineering designs prepared by design subcontractors; coordinate functional reviews with the Corporate Manager of H&H Engineering.
- Perform value engineering, constructability reviews, safety reviews, and O&M reviews.
