At Nox Group, we are dedicated to humanizing construction as one of the fastest-growing industrial enterprises in the US. Nox Group owns and operates Corbins, RMCI, Nox Innovations, and Construction Labels, and our teams set the standard as industry leaders. As we continue to expand our reach nationwide, we seek people who are passionate about personal growth and eager to make a positive impact throughout the industries and communities we serve.

We prioritize our people, our partners, and our relationships. Start your journey today and join our skilled team.

Nox Group is looking to add a Technical Engineer – Mechanical to support the construction of some of the most challenging and exciting projects in the country. This role supports the technical backbone of the project team, bringing the field’s perspective to the design team, leveraging technical expertise to support and drive the design process, and closing the loop by walking the job site with the field to make sure what was designed actually gets built.

This role connects design to constructability, improving outcomes for both teams.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify design gaps, cross‑discipline conflicts, and constructability issues before they reach the field, identifying solutions in addition to documenting challenges.
  • Serve as the primary engineering resource for assigned projects, bridging the gap between the project design team and field operations throughout all phases of delivery.
  • Review mechanical design documents at each milestone for code compliance, completeness, internal consistency, and constructability; maintain structured design review logs and track comments to resolution.
  • Support and drive the RFI and submittal processes to align with field construction needs, actively managing design team review cycles to ensure timely turnaround; this includes review of shop drawings, product data, and equipment submittals for conformance with contract documents and applicable standards.
  • Support and execute design‑build, delegated design, and design‑assist scopes in coordination with engineering subconsultants, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements and applicable codes.
  • Partner directly with field superintendents and trade partners to resolve technical issues in real time, providing engineering judgment on field conditions, design deviations, and installation sequencing; support the commissioning authority through system startup and closeout.
  • Maintain structured technical records in alignment with enterprise documentation standards.
  • Support and deliver internal technical training and contribute to the development of enterprise engineering standards.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design or construction.
  • Working knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection codes and industry standards as they relate to large‑scale, industrial, and mission‑critical construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and critically evaluate mechanical engineering deliverables to identify errors, omissions, and cross‑discipline coordination issues.
  • Familiarity with RFI and submittal review workflows on construction projects.
  • Familiarity with design‑build, design‑assist, or delegated design project delivery models, including understanding the roles and responsibilities of design and construction teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical positions into clear, actionable language for both engineering and non‑engineering audiences including field supervision, project management, and owners.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and web‑based project management platforms such as ACC, Procore, or similar.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects and maintain documentation discipline under schedule pressure.
  • Collaborative by default, proactive by habit.
Education & Certifications

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required; related education considered with demonstrated mechanical experience.

Relevant Engineering licensure (PE/EIT) preferred. OSHA 10 preferred. Commissioning credentials are a plus. Autodesk Forma, BIM/Revit proficiency is a plus.

Safety Level

This is a safety sensitive position and all applicable policies, including drug testing and background checks, must be complied with.
