Job OverviewThis position supports Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects, providing technical expertise in electrical system design, including duct bank, cable tray, grounding, lighting, and other electrical infrastructure for power generation facilities. The role requires creating, modifying, and maintaining high‑quality engineering deliverables using industry‑standard tools such as Bentley Micro Station and Bentley 3D modeling systems.
Experience with AGI
32 for lighting design is preferred.
- Serve as senior engineering technician, applying advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and deliverables using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software.
- Provide training, consultation, and oversight to other engineering technicians, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
- Establish and communicate design and graphic standards; review project requirements and design inputs for alignment and consistency.
- Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards; review others’ deliverables for quality and accuracy.
- Position may involve process improvement, change management, and continuous improvement of design guides, standards, and processes.
- Manage drawing control, maintain historical records, and coordinate with other design groups to exchange information.
- Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation; program control systems or support plant start‑up activities within area of expertise if required.
- Communicate project design requirements, progress, and schedules; support field activities as required.
- Develop training and development needs for supervised personnel; make presentations and conduct training classes within specialized areas.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
- Typically a minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
Compensation Transparency- State of Colorado: $96,921 – $161,843
- State of Minnesota: $92,516 – $154,487
