Power Electronics R&D Engineer
We are looking for a dynamic Power Electronics R&D Engineer to join a leading technology company in Fremont, CA. This role involves working on cutting-edge power electronics projects, including AC/DC, DC/DC, HVDC/DC systems, inverter-based solutions, and high-power conversion platforms for various applications.
The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field. Qualified candidates from North America may be eligible for relocation assistance, and visa support options like H1B transfer, TN, and Green Card sponsorship may be available.
Travel requirements for this position are around 20-25%, with international trips to Europe and Asia included. This role focuses on advanced development, prototyping, platform design, and tackling complex high-power engineering challenges ranging from kW to MW scale.
Project Responsibilities- Designing high-power AC/DC, DC/DC, and HVDC/DC conversion systems
- Assisting in R&D initiatives, prototype development, and architecture design
- Conducting efficiency optimization, thermal analysis, and system validation
- Leading lab testing, debugging, and performance evaluation
- Troubleshooting technical issues and conducting root-cause analysis
- Translating customer needs into engineering solutions
- Collaborating with global R&D teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia
- Contributing to innovative high-density power systems
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with high-power systems
- Expertise in lab validation, testing, and system optimization
- Ability to work on advanced development projects
- Interest in customer-oriented problem solving and global collaboration
- Bilingualism is a plus
- Base salary: $180K–$200K
- Bonus: 20%
- Travel: 20-25%, including international trips
